I was pretty well-informed about Midway, but so much of what you’ve created is new to me. Please keep it up. I hope you cover the entire Pacific War.

I don't understand the loss of so many hundreds of Japanese sailors. It seems to me that the comparatively long period of deliberation that precedes the scuttling of a ship would allow the rescue of all remaining personnel.

I think they should have risked the carriers on wake island reinforcement mission but they turned back. The marines wouldn't have been ordered to surrender if carrier based US planes would have been overhead
